Safari: No change in Iran's Caspian policies

Moscow, April 15, IRNA -- Iran's Special Representative for Caspian Sea Affairs and Deputy Foreign Minister for European Affairs Mehdi Safari said here Wednesday that Tehran's stance vis-à-vis Caspian Sea is stable and have not changed whatsoever.
Addressing a news conference attended by deputy foreign ministers of Russia, Azerbaijan Republic, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan, he announced that Iran is after its national interests and no changes have been made in its policies regarding the world's largest inland body of water.
Describing the results of the summit of special working group of the five littoral states as positive, he further said that constructive talks were held among the representatives and this can help expand cooperation among them.
Safari added that compilation of the Caspian Sea legal regime and strengthening cooperation among the nations within the framework of the ratifications of the second summit of the countries' leaders were also discussed at the gathering.
He hoped that they will make constructive decisions in line with further affinity and cooperation in the next summit due in Baku.
The 25th meeting of Caspian Sea littoral states' working group opened in Moscow Tuesday and ended on Wednesday.
