Conference on Caspian Sea status opens in Moscow

Moscow, April 14, IRNA – The 25th conference on Caspian Sea status started its work on Tuesday in Moscow, attended by the deputy foreign ministers of the Caspian Sea littoral states including Iran.
Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for European Affairs Mehdi Safari arrived in Moscow Tuesday morning to attend the conference.
Safari voiced support for Turkmenistan’s proposal on holding such conferences regularly in the countries bordering Caspian Sea with the next one being scheduled to be held in Ashkhabad.
The 25th conference on the Caspian Sea status would run until April 15 during which the deputy foreign ministers and experts of the Caspian Sea littoral states are to confer on the issue of the Caspian Sea legal regime.
The Caspian Sea littoral countries include Iran, Russia, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan.
