Two Bangladeshi generals killed in helicopter crash

New Delhi, March 9, IRNA -- At least two top Bangladesh Army officers, including a major general were killed Monday after a military helicopter crashed in the country's central Tangail district, officials said.
"The army helicopter crashed in a pond and rescuers are preparing to salvage the occupants," Indian official media reported quoting Tangail district police chief.
The police official said that he had no information yet about the number or identity of the passengers.
However, army sources said that general officer commanding of the army's western Jessore area, Major General Rafiqul Islam and another Lieutenant Colonel were killed in the crash while at least two other officers survived the accident.
