10 civilians killed by LTTE cadres in Sri Lanka

New Delhi, Feb 22, IRNA -- Ten civilians including two children were killed while five others sustained serious injuries when a group of suspected LTTE cadres opened indiscriminate small arms fire at Kirimetiya in Iginiyagala.
According to All India Radio (AIR) report, group of people Saturday evening stormed into Kirimetiya village and opened fire at civilians indiscriminately.
These people are mainly chena cultivators. The civilians were shot at point-blank range.
Army and Police Special Task Force personnel are looking for the culprits. The injured civilians were evacuated to the general hospital at Ampara.
