ATK Awarded $36 Million Contract to Provide LW30mm Ammunition to UK

ATK Continues Expansion into International Markets

MINNEAPOLIS, Jan. 27 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Alliant Techsystems has been awarded a $36 million contract to provide lightweight (LW) 30mm M789 High Explosive Dual Purpose (HEDP) tactical ammunition and M788 training ammunition to the United Kingdom's (UK) Ministry of Defence. Production and delivery will take place in fiscal year 2010. Both rounds support the UK's fleet of AH-64 Apache Helicopters. This award follows a recently completed contract to supply M789 rounds to the UK, which was valued at $19 million.
