Hamas envoy: Israel to pay dearly for its crimes

IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency

Tehran, Dec 27, IRNA
Iran-Hamas-Statement
Hamas Representative to Iran Abu Osameh Al-Mo'ti said in a statement on Saturday that the Zionist regime will pay dearly for its crimes in the occupied lands.

He made the remark on Saturday following Israeli helicopters' attack on Gaza Strip which killed 155 and wounded more than 200.

Condemning the attack, he described it as an inhuman and barbaric move.

According to a report by Palestine Information Dissemination Center in Tehran, he added that the Zionist regime carried out its recent threats to attack the strip.

"This was not unexpected for us", he added, noting that Palestine's war with Israel is not over a loaf of bread and passageways. Rather, the Palestinians will not surrender to the occupying regime and its conditions. Furthermore, it will vindicate its right for life and independence and take back its lands," he said.

Referring to the fact that the Zionist regime had planned to attack Gaza Strip since a long time ago, Al-Mo'ti said that the regime started to mount military and economic pressure on the Palestinians, especially residents of Gaza Strip, with the support of its allies to force the resistance groups to accept ceasefire. But it miscalculated.

Hamas did not agree to sign unilateral ceasefire and opposed the proposal with reliance on God and support of the zealous nation of Palestine, he said.

Al-Mo'ti added that the opposition prompted the Zionist regime to commit other horrible crimes, hoping that it would be able to punish the resistance movement.

To this end, more than 155 people, most of whom were Palestinian police cadets, were martyred and 200 others wounded.

Such crimes will never be able to undermine the spirit of the Palestinians, he said, underlining, "We will give a crushing response to the crimes."
