L-3 Selects IBM for Special Operations Command Logistics Support Contract Team

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 16, 2008--L-3 Communications (NYSE:LLL) announced today that it has selected IBM Global Business Services (NYSE: IBM) as a partner in its plan to retain its logistics support contract with the U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM). L-3 has successfully supported the Special Operations Forces Support Activity (SOFSA) as the prime contractor for the past 20 years, providing logistics support for USSOCOM, its component commands, selected Department of Defense customers and designated government agencies. The next multi-billion dollar contract is expected to be awarded by the end of 2008 and would extend the program through 2018.
