CAMP LEMONIER, Djibouti (NNS) -- The Secretary of the Navy (SECNAV) visited Camp Lemonier to discuss Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa (CJTF-HOA) operations and to meet the Sailors aboard Camp Lemonier Aug. 22.

During his visit, Secretary Donald C. Winter spent time with 10 new chief selectees who are supporting CJTF-HOA and joined them for breakfast and photo opportunities.

During the breakfast, chief selectees participated in an open forum discussion during which SECNAV asked questions. Chief (Sel.) Construction Electrician (SCW) James Harrison of Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 4 Air Detachment HOA spoke with SECNAV about his time in the Navy and the experiences leading up to his selection as chief petty officer.

"Meeting the Secretary of the Navy was an honor that I will remember as a milestone in my career," said Harrison, a native of Macon, Ga. "He was very passionate when it came to talking about the troops and the leadership role the selectees were stepping into. The impact he made in the short amount of time I spent talking with him will stay with me as I continue to gain experience and grow as a Navy chief."

Following breakfast, SECNAV and chief selectees assembled for a group photo. He personally congratulated the selectees and presented each of them with a SECNAV coin.
