MNF-W Marine killed in SAF attack (Anbar Province)
Multi National Force – West PAO

AL ANBAR, Iraq – A Multi-National Force – West Marine was killed when his unit was attacked by an enemy force in Anbar Province Aug. 10.

The unit was performing clearing operations in a village southwest of Tikrit, Iraq, when it came under small-arms fire from an enemy force.

Two other Marines were wounded in the attack.

The name of the deceased is being withheld pending next of kin notification and release by the Department of Defense.
