U.S. Air Force Selects SAIC for $6.9 Billion ContractSAN DIEGO and MCLEAN, Va., July 29, 2008 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX News Network/ -- Science Applications International Corporation (NYSE: SAI) today announced it has been awarded a contract by the U.S. Air Force Warner Robins Air Logistics Center, Warner Robins Air Force Base (AFB), Ga. This multiple-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract supports the Future Flexible Acquisition and Sustainment Tool (F2AST) program. The contract has a three-year base period of performance and two two-year options. The total contract value for all awardees is $6.9 billion. Work will be performed primarily at the Warner Robins Air Logistics Center and the Ogden Air Logistics Center, Hill AFB, Utah.

F2AST will support Air Force weapons systems, including those operated by Air Force Material Command and Air Force Special Operations Command. Under the contract, SAIC will develop, modify, perform depot maintenance, provide spare parts and repair dozens of Air Force platforms, support systems, subsystems and components. SAIC will also provide engineering and logistics support services as required. The contract includes work on Special Operations Forces C-130s, B-52 sustainment and avionics systems, and combines existing Flexible Acquisition and Sustainment Tool (FAST) and Integrated Weapons System Support Program (IWSSP) requirements.
