18 Feb 2008 | Ref. 049/2008

YORK, Pennsylvania -- BAE Systems was awarded two contract modifications from the MRAP Joint Program Office, totaling $21.3 million for RG33 Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicles.

Under the first modification, worth $10.3 million, BAE Systems will provide training, documentation and technical support for RG33 MRAP vehicles. The second modification, worth $11 million, calls for BAE Systems to provide spare parts for the vehicles.

The modifications bring the total value of the contracts BAE Systems has been awarded on MRAP RG33 vehicles to $1.3 billion.

“The continued support of RG33 vehicles is critically important,” said Matt Riddle, vice president of Wheeled Vehicle Programs for BAE Systems. “These contracts provide an infrastructure for the vehicles to maintain a high level of operational readiness.”

Work on both contracts began in January 2008 and will continue through January 2009.
