Media advisory: III Corps transfers authority to XVIII Airborne

Multi-National Corps – Iraq PAO

BAGHDAD – All media agencies are cordially invited to the Transfer of Authority ceremony between the outgoing Multi-National Corps – Iraq headquarters command, III Corps, and the incoming command, XVIII Airborne Corps at Camp Victory Feb. 14 at 10 a.m.

The outgoing commanding general, Lt. Gen. Ray Odierno, and the incoming commander, Lt. Gen. Lloyd J. Austin III, will conduct interviews following the ceremony.

Interested media should be at the Coalition Press Information Center at 7:30 a.m. An interpreter will be available for Arab Media.

Media should note that transportation to Camp Victory will be by Rhino. Also, media representative need to provide the last four digits of their SSN (if U.S. citizen) and your CPIC ID number.

Media representatives must also bring their protective helmet and body armor. As seating will be limited, transportation will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis. This will be the only transportation option to attend the ceremony, as we will be unable to escort media.

Following the ceremony, media will return to the CPIC at approximately 1 p.m.
