
Shiloh Arrives in Manila

MANILA, Republic of Philippines (NNS) -- USS Shiloh (CG 67) arrived in Manila, Republic of Philippines Feb. 1 for a regularly scheduled port visit.
While in Manila, Shiloh Sailors will participate in goodwill building activities while experiencing the local culture and interacting with the city's citizens.
Sailors will participate in a Gawad Kalinga project in Taugig, building homes and further strengthening the friendship and ties between the United States and the Philippines.
Some Sailors will also use this opportunity to reunite with family members living in Manila.
"It's been about four years since I've been home," said Storekeeper 3rd Class (SW) Gidel Torres, who was reuniting with her seven sisters. "I really am excited to be here and to be home with them."
Shiloh, forward deployed to Yokosuka, Japan, is underway on a regularly scheduled deployment.
