LOCKHEED MARTIN CANADA ANNOUNCES SIGNIFICANT MILESTONE IN DELIVERY OF ELECTRONIC HEALTH SYSTEM FOR CANADIAN FORCES

OTTAWA, November 5th, 2007 -- Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT] today announced the successful implementation of a new software application at 21 Canadian Forces dental clinics nationwide. This latest Canadian Forces Health Information System (CFHIS) program milestone -- which will enhance day-to-day dental care administration, charting and treatment plan management for Forces members -- follows the earlier successful rollout of a patient scheduling application at 35 clinics across the country.

Within the Canadian Department of National Defense (DND) health care system, 21 of 35 DND clinics currently include on-site dentistry and pharmacies.

The CFHIS program, awarded to Lockheed Martin Canada in 2002, is a 10-year, CDN $65 million effort designed to enable more than 2,500 Canadian Force health care providers to share patient information securely and coordinate care for Canada’s 85,000 regular and reserve force personnel worldwide. Once completed, the CFHIS program will be the single largest integrated health information system in Canada, operating in 35 clinics across the country and two European clinics. Future plans include support to deployed operations and interoperability with civilian and allied forces healthcare providers.

The multi-phase CFHIS program has already seen the successful installation of critical infrastructure at Department of National Defence many bases across Canada and medical personnel across the country are currently using CFHIS applications to support patient scheduling, diagnostic imaging, immunization tracking and an innovative laboratory function. The last of the Department of National Defence bases is expected to reach “go live” status with these applications by April 2008. A pharmacy application is undergoing trials and will be deployed across 21 bases by the end of 2008. A clinical notes function is also expected to be on-line by mid-2008.

For the CFHIS program, Lockheed Martin Canada is leading a strong team of health care partners that includes Emergis Inc, Purkinje Inc., Softcomputer Consultants Inc. and Adstra Systems Inc. Adstra is responsible for the delivery of the dental application software that was integrated by the Lockheed Martin Canada team.
