MELBOURNE, Fla., Oct. 4, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation's (NYSE:NOC) KC-30 Tanker team will generate economic activity nearing $40 million annually and create 1,800 direct and indirect jobs in New Mexico if the KC-30 Tanker aircraft is selected by the U.S. Air Force.

"I enthusiastically support this effort not simply for its value to New Mexico's economy, but also for its value to the entire Southwestern region of the United States, the U.S. Air Force and our national security," said Fred Mondragon, Cabinet Secretary of New Mexico's Economic Development Department.

Northrop Grumman, EADS, and the KC-30 Tanker supply chain currently support nearly 2,200 jobs statewide and generate a combined economic activity approaching $600 million annually.

Northrop Grumman and teammate EADS invest nearly $60 million annually in New Mexico, while KC-30 supplier companies inject $180 million into the economy each year. Northrop Grumman's current workforce in New Mexico represents more than $32 million in annual wages.
