MND-B Soldiers attacked during combat operations
Multi-National Division – Baghdad PAO
BAGHDAD — A Multi-National Division-Baghdad Soldier was killed and another wounded during combat operations in a western section of the Iraqi capital Aug. 30.
Soldiers from this unit continue to conduct combined clearing and cordon and search operations, finding five weapons caches and a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device in recent weeks. Caches uncovered in this area of Baghdad consisted of more than 100 mortar, rocket and artillery rounds, anti-tank mines, pressure-plate IEDs, rocket-propelled grenade launchers and homemade explosives.
The deceased Soldier’s name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin and release by the Department of Defense.
