Roadside bomb targets MND-B troops
Multi-National Division – Baghdad PAO
BAGHDAD — One Multi-National Division-Baghdad Soldier was killed and two were wounded when a roadside bomb detonated during a patrol in an eastern section of the Iraqi capital Aug. 17.
Units operating in this area of Baghdad continue to conduct targeted raids and clearing operations in order to disrupt extremist and militia elements operating in this section of Baghdad. Destroying these insurgent cells reduces overall sectarian violence and helps to set the conditions for the improvement of essential services, economic growth and aids in the transition of Iraqi-led security operations.
The Soldier’s name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin and release by the Department of Defense.
