MND-B patrol struck by explosively-formed penetrator
Multi-National Division – Baghdad PAO

BAGHDAD — One Multi-National Division - Baghdad Soldier was killed and another wounded when an explosively-formed penetrator detonated targeting their vehicle during combat operations in a western section of the Iraqi capital Aug. 6.

Units operating in this area of Baghdad continue to conduct targeted raids and clearing operations in order to reduce sectarian violence and help set the conditions for the improvement of essential services, economic growth and aid in the transition of security operations with Iraqi Security Forces in the lead.

The deceased Soldier’s name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin and release by the Department of Defense.
