Northrop Grumman and Its KC-30 Tanker Team Will Support Thousands of Direct and Indirect Jobs Throughout the State
MELBOURNE, Fla., Aug. 23, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE:NOC) and its KC-30 Tanker industry team will generate economic activity and support thousands of aerospace jobs throughout Texas if the KC-30 Tanker aircraft is selected by the U.S. Air Force. Northrop Grumman and teammate EADS generate direct economic activity in Texas that exceeds $400 million annually.
Northrop Grumman's KC-30 supply base in Texas currently generates $230 million in direct economic activity annually and employs nearly 2,900 Texans across the state. Northrop Grumman alone employs nearly 2,000 Texans whose combined salaries exceed $137 million each year.
The KC-30 supply base in Texas includes:
- Honeywell; Roanoke, Texas -- CF6 engine sub-assemblies
- Texas Almet; Arlington, Texas -- CF6 engine sub-assemblies
- Wyman-Gordon Forgings; Houston, Texas -- CF6 engine castings
- Chelton; Lewisville, Texas -- Radio and IFF antennas
- Knight Aerospace; San Antonio, Texas -- Palletized seating systems
The KC-30 Tanker aircraft will be assembled in Mobile, Ala., and the KC-30 program will employ 25,000 American workers at 230 U.S. companies. It will be built by a world-class industrial team led by Northrop Grumman, and includes EADS North America, General Electric Aviation and Sargent Fletcher.
