Sri Lankan military claims to destroy LTTE's sea base

A major sea-tiger base in the northern district of Mullaithivu, was completely destroyed in an aerial bombing carried out by Sri Lankan military today.

The Tamil tiger base called "Naresh", located in North of Mulaithiuvu, was the coordinating center for Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE)'s networking with overseas terrorist organizations.

The camp was also used by the LTTE to train the sea tigers, All India Radio (AIR) reported here quoting spokesman at the Media Center for Sri Lankan National Security (MCNS).

The target was 'hit effectively inflicting heavy damages' on the sea tiger base. 'The details of casualty inflicted upon the LTTE are not immediately known, the spokesman said.

There has been no response from the LTTE to the air attack.
