DoD Identifies Army Casualty


 

The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Staff Sgt. Joan J. Duran, 24, of Roxbury, Mass., died August 10 in Iraq of injuries suffered from a non-combat related incident. He was assigned to the 5th Squadron, 73rd Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, N.C.

The incident is under investigation.
