DoD Identifies Marine Casualty


 

The Department of Defense announced today the death of a Marine who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.

 

Lance Cpl. Cristian Vasquez, 20, of Coalinga, Calif., died Aug. 2 from wounds suffered while conducting combat operations in Al Anbar province, Iraq. He was assigned to 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, Calif.
