MND-B patrol struck by improvised explosive device
Multi-National Division – Baghdad PAO
BAGHDAD —Two Multi-National Division-Baghdad Soldiers was killed when an improvised explosive device detonated near a combat patrol in a eastern section of the Iraqi capital July 6. Three other Soldiers were wounded in the attack. All of the wounded Soldiers were evacuated to a combat support hospital following the attack.
Elements from this unit continue to conduct clearing operations in this area of Baghdad. Soldiers from this unit have recently detained numerous suspected insurgents. These ongoing operations are designed to reduce sectarian violence and help set conditions for improving essential services, economic growth and aiding in the transition of security operations with Iraqi Security Forces in the lead.
The deceased Soldiers’ names are being withheld pending notification of next of kin and release by the Department of Defense.
