Improvised explosive device strikes MND-B patrol
Multi-National Division – Baghdad PAO

BAGHDAD —A Multi-National Division-Baghdad Soldier was killed when a patrol was struck by a roadside bomb in western Baghdad July 5.

In the past month this unit has performed several clearing operations and targeted raids. These operations have netted numerous weapons caches containing rocket propelled grenades, pistols and AK-47 assault rifles. They have also detained numerous suspects as the Soldiers continue to provide a more secure environment for Iraqi citizens.

The deceased Soldier’s name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin and release by the Department of Defense.
