ATK Receives an Additional $14 Million in Orders for Small-Caliber Ammunition

ATK Is The Nation's Largest Producer Of Military Ammunition

MINNEAPOLIS, July 31 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Alliant Techsystems (NYSE: ATK), the largest supplier of small-caliber ammunition to the United States military, has received an additional $14 million in orders for the production of small-caliber ammunition. These contracts were issued by the U.S. Army Sustainment Command, Rock Island, Ill.

ATK operates the U.S. Army's Lake City ammunition plant in Independence, Mo., where it produces a mix of 5.56mm, 7.62mm, .50-caliber and 20mm cartridges. ATK currently produces 1.4 billion rounds of small caliber ammunition per year at the plant.
