ATK Awarded $80 Million in Medium-Caliber Ammunition Contracts

AMMUNITION WILL BE USED BY AC-130 GUNSHIPS, APACHE HELICOPTERS, BRADLEY FIGHTING VEHICLES, LIGHT ARMORED VEHICLES AND THE COUNTER ROCKET ARTILLERY MORTAR SYSTEM

ATK PORTFOLIO PROVIDES FULL SPECTRUM OF TACTICAL AND TRAINING AMMUNITION

MINNEAPOLIS, July 26 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Alliant Techsystems (NYSE: ATK) has received $80 million in additional orders for 20mm M940, 25mm M792 and PGU-23, and LW30 M789 medium-caliber ammunition from the U.S. Army Sustainment Command, Rock Island Arsenal, IL. Work on the contracts will be performed at ATK facilities in Arizona, Missouri, Virginia and West Virginia.

The M940 is a 20mm round used by the Counter-Rocket Artillery Mortar (C-RAM) force protection system. The M792 is a 25mm tactical round used by the Army's Bradley Infantry Fighting Vehicle as well as the U.S. Marine Corps' Light Armored Vehicle (LAV). The PGU-23 is a 25mm target practice round used by the U.S. Air Force on AC-130 gunships and the Marine Corps' AV-8B Harrier. And the M789 is a Light Weight 30mm tactical round used by the U.S. Army's AH-64 Apache Attack Helicopters.
