
USS Germantown Provides Emergency MEDEVAC Assistance

USS GERMANTOWN, At Sea (NNS) -- USS Germantown (LSD 42) provided emergency medical evacuation (MEDEVAC) assistance to a civilian boat off the coast of San Diego July 18.
At approximately 8:15 a.m. Germantown received an emergency call from a pleasure craft and quickly responded by deploying a medical team on an 11-meter rigid hull inflatable boat (RHIB).
The victim was transported to Germantown where he was transferred to a U.S. Coast Guard HH-60 Jayhawk helicopter.
Germantown is currently underway in Southern California conducting various training exercises.
