Northrop Grumman Awarded Navy Aircraft Maintenance and Modification Contract

HERNDON, Va., July 12, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- The U.S. Navy's Fleet and Industrial Supply Center, Norfolk, Va., has awarded Northrop Grumman (NYSE:NOC) a contract to provide maintenance, modification, and upgrade work for E-2C and C-2A aircraft under the Naval Air Forces Atlantic Fleet program.

The $32 million contract value covers a base year and four option years.

"This work will provide the Navy with higher levels of aircraft flight availability," said Bill Brofft, Northrop Grumman area manager for Norfolk. "It also gives us the opportunity to continue providing this valued customer with mission-critical skills and capabilities."

Northrop Grumman has provided aircraft support services to the Navy in the Norfolk area for the past 35 years, since the introduction of the E-2C Hawkeye. Hawkeye is the Navy's stalwart airborne early warning and battle management system. This past April, Northrop Grumman also rolled-out the first of two E-2D Advanced Hawkeye test aircraft. The Northrop Grumman-built C-2A Greyhound is a twin-engine cargo aircraft designed to provide critical logistics support to carriers.
