
ATK Forms 'Team MRM' to Compete for the U.S. Army's XM1111 Mid-Range Munition Program

MINNEAPOLIS, July 12 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Alliant Techsystems (NYSE: ATK) announced today that it has formed "Team MRM" to compete for the U.S. Army's XM1111 Mid-Range Munition (MRM) program. ATK will serve as the system prime contractor for the program. Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT), BAE Systems and HR Textron (NYSE: TXT) are Team MRM members.

"The Team MRM design offers all weather performance, overwhelming lethality, and the ability to defeat advanced armor and active protection systems. The work share leverages the proven strengths of each team member to provide our customer a low-risk, best-value solution," Wise added.
MRM is a precision-guided 120mm smart munition designed with a dual-mode beyond line of sight (BLOS) capability for the Future Combat Systems (FCS), Mounted Combat System (MCS) manned ground vehicle.

HR Textron will provide the control actuation system.
