PARIS AIR SHOW, PARIS, France, June 18, 2007 - Pratt & Whitney, a United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX) company, recently delivered the 800th F117 engine to the United States Air Force. The F117 engines power 100 percent of the the C-17 Globemaster III transport aircraft worldwide.

Four F117 engines, rated at 40,440 pounds of thrust, enable the C-17 transport to carry a payload of 160,600 pounds, take off from a 7,600-foot airfield, and fly 2,400 nautical miles without refueling.

“Pratt & Whitney is proud to deliver the 800th engine as we continue to expand our customer base across the globe,” says Bev Deachin, mobility and surveillance systems director, Pratt & Whitney Military Engines. “This milestone is yet another testament to the impressive dependability and reliability of Pratt & Whitney’s F117 engine.”

Through Pratt & Whitney’s ongoing investment in product improvements, the engine continuously surpasses established goals for time on wing, in-flight shut downs and support turnaround time. The F117 fleet benefits from more than 4.7 million engine flight hours accumulated by the United States Air Force, United Kingdom’s Royal Air Force and users around the world.
