ELTA Systems Awarded a Contract to Enhance a Coastal Protection System

ELTA Systems Ltd, an IAI (Israel Aerospace Industries Ltd) wholly owned subsidiary, was awarded a USD10 million contract to supply a number of Advanced Coastal Surveillance Radars (ACSR) to be integrated into a country's Coastal Protection System. ELTA’s ACSRs were selected by the customer after a rigorous competitive analysis which included sea trials in severe weather conditions and sea states.

ELTA provides innovative 24/365 All-Weather ACSRs for Coastal Protection Systems and Vessel Traffic Monitoring Systems (VTMS). These high resolution radar systems support various missions including the prevention of illegal activities (such as drug smuggling, terrorist activities, contraband and illegal immigration) and Vessel Traffic Monitoring in both littoral and blue waters. The radars also provide support to Search and Rescue (SAR) in proximity to the shore.

With the support of ELTA’s ACSRs, the system’s command & control center allows for a comprehensive naval situation awareness picture and transmits reports to its users including the Police, Coast Guard, Customs, Vessel Traffic Management Authorities and the Navy.
