DoD Identifies Army Casualty


 

The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Sgt. Michael J. Montpetit, 31, of Honolulu, died June 22 in Baghdad, Iraq, of injuries sustained from a non-combat related incident. His death is under investigation.

Montpetit was assigned to the 15th Forward Support Battalion, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas. For more information related to this release the media may contact the Fort Hood public affairs office at (254) 287-9993; after hours (254) 291-2591.
