Task Force Lightning Soldiers attacked
Multinational Division – North PAO

TIKRIT, Iraq – A Task Force Lightning Soldier was killed when an explosion occurred near his vehicle while conducting operations in Diyala Province, Saturday.

Two other Soldiers were also wounded in the incident and were taken to a Coalition Forces medical treatment facility.

The name of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin and release by the Department of Defense.
