MND-B patrol receives small arms fire
Multi-National Division – Baghdad PAO

BAGHDAD – An MND-B Soldier was killed when his patrol was attacked with small arms fire in a western section of the Iraqi capital May 22.

Elements of this unit have completed multiple clearing operations in the past few weeks resulting in the seizure of several caches, including small arms weapons, ammunition, mortars, grenades, and improvised explosive devicemaking materials. The removal of these weapons helps provide a safer environment for Iraqis to work and live. Combined efforts continue to clear and control this section of the Iraqi capital in support of Operation Fardh Al-Qanoon.

The deceased Soldier’s name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin and release by the Department of Defense.
