Roadside bomb targets MND-B patrol
Multi-National Division – Baghdad PAO

BAGHDAD – Two MND-B Soldiers were killed and two others were wounded when their vehicle was struck by an improvised explosive device in a southern section of the Iraqi capital May 2. The unit was conducting route clearance operations in the area when the attack occurred.

Iraqi Security Forces and MND-B Soldiers continue conducting operations in support of Operation Fardh Al-Qanoon, helping set the conditions for a stable, secure and self-reliant Iraq.

Soldiers in this unit conduct route clearance operations in order to free the roads of possible IED threats. Clearing these roads allows freedom of maneuver for coalition and Iraqi Security Forces conducting clearing operations in the area, as well as freedom of movement for the civilian populace.

The deceased Soldiers’ names are being withheld pending notification of next of kin and release by the Department of Defense.
