ORLANDO, FL, May 16, 2007 -- Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) has received three contracts to provide modular military targetry systems for the U.S. Army and Marine Corps.

Two contracts awarded were for U.S. Army Targetry Systems (ATS). This includes three ranges that will be installed at Ft. Hood, TX and three at Ft. Bliss, TX. These six ranges will include Stationary Infantry Targets, Stationary Armor Targets, Moving Infantry Targets, Moving Armor Targets, Sound Effect Simulators and associated computers and software to run the ranges.

The third contract was for follow-on systems for the U.S. Marine Corps Program Manager for Training Systems (PM TRASYS), which are slated to go to multiple Marine camps for ranges in Hawaii and Okinawa. The three contracts have a combined value of $4.5 million.

“Today’s Soldiers and Marines must be prepared for combat in both traditional and urban settings,” explained Jim Craig, vice president of Ground, Maritime & Civil Solutions at Lockheed Martin Simulation, Training & Support (STS). “The equipment we will deliver under these contracts will ensure that our troops receive the best training possible and are prepared to accomplish their mission.”

Lockheed Martin has developed a comprehensive targetry and simulator suite in support of Army and Marine Corps training operations. This modular equipment – designed for ease of operation, portability and minimal maintenance – provides a versatile solution for both live fire and virtual fire training requirements.

“Although targetry systems are not a new idea, we continue to provide systems that leverage technological advances and take into consideration the changing nature of warfare," said Bob Denson, STS site manager in Huntsville, AL. "The ranges we will be delivering for these contracts will help our warfighters better train to deploy, fight, win and survive our nation’s battles.”

Headquartered in Bethesda, Md., Lockheed Martin employs about 140,000 people worldwide and is principally engaged in the research, design, development, manufacture, integration and sustainment of advanced technology systems, products and services.
