BAE SYSTEMS, NORTHROP GRUMMAN TEAM ON ARMY-MARINE CORPS PROGRAM
RESTON, Virginia - BAE Systems has joined Northrop Grumman Corp. (NYSE: NOC) in a bid for the Common Army and Marine Command & Control (CAMC2) program.
CAMC2 will offer battle command situational awareness by providing a common display of the battlefield. It will allow commanders to operate away from fixed command posts so they can situate themselves for optimum effectiveness.
"Battle command on the move is a marriage of two mission capabilities - command and control and communications on the move," said William Campbell, vice president of Advanced Network Systems for BAE Systems. "This team has the right combination of operational expertise and technical experience to deliver the best capability to the warfighter."
The BAE Systems-Northrop Grumman team combines experience in command, control, communications, computers, and intelligence on Future Combat Systems, Force XXI Battle Command Brigade, and Below-Blue Force Tracking, Warfighter Information Network-Tactical, Command Post Platform, and Army Battle Command System applications. BAE Systems has a major development role in all of the U.S. military's transformational communications programs, and Northrop Grumman is a leader in command and control and mobile tactical operation centers.
Northrop Grumman uses the High-Mobility Multi-Purpose Wheeled Vehicle as the command post platform. BAE Systems uses Bradley Combat Systems vehicles, for which the company is the original equipment manufacturer and the Army's provider of full system upgrades and vehicle reset services.
