MND-B SECURITY PATROL RECEIVES SMALL ARMS FIRE
BAGHDAD – While conducting combat security operations in a southern section of the capital, a Multi-National Division – Baghdad patrol was attacked with small arms fire, killing one Soldier May 10.
In recent weeks, Coalition Forces have been conducting operations in this section of the city uncovering numerous weapons caches, including improvised explosive device-making materials and detaining several individuals, disrupting insurgent activity and providing a more secure environment for Iraqi citizens.
The deceased Soldier’s name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin and release by the Department of Defense.
