Explosively-formed projectile targets MND-B patrol
Multi-National Division – Baghdad Public Affairs
BAGHDAD – An explosively formed projectile targeting an MND-B patrol killed one Soldier and wounded two others in a southern section of Baghdad April 16. The unit was conducting a combat security patrol at the time of the attack.
An Iraqi interpreter was also wounded in the attack.
This unit has recently conducted hasty raids in the area to disrupt insurgent attacks against Iraqi residents of the area. Combined operations aimed at targeting such militant activities help assist in providing better security to the Iraqi people.
A secure, stable and self –reliant Iraq is the goal of Operation Fardh Al-Qanoon, supported jointly by Iraqi Fecurity Forces and Soldiers from the Multi-National Division – Baghdad.
The deceased Soldier’s name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin and release by the Department of Defense.
