MND-B patrol targeted by IED strike
Multi-National Division – Baghdad PAO

BAGHDAD – A Multi-National Division – Baghdad Soldier died and one other was wounded when their vehicle was struck by an improvised explosive device in a southern section of Baghdad April 16. The unit was conducting a security patrol in the area when the attack occurred.

Iraqi security forces and MND-B Soldiers continue conducting operations in support of Operation Fardh Al-Qanoon to help set conditions for a stable and self-reliant Iraq.

Elements of this unit continue to conduct joint cordon and search operations in this area of the capital with their national police counterparts. These combined operations aim at reducing sectarian violence in order to provide a secure environment for the Iraqi people.

The deceased Soldier’s name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin and release by the Department of Defense.
