Roadside bomb targets MND-B patrol

Multi-National Division – Baghdad Public Affairs

BAGHDAD – Three MND-B Soldiers died and another was wounded when an improvised explosive device and secondary explosion detonated near their patrol in a southeastern section of the Iraqi capital April 9.

Multi-National Division – Baghdad Soldiers supporting Operation Fardh Al-Qanoon are assisting Iraqi security forces establish the conditions for a stable and self-reliant Iraq.

Soldiers from this unit have recently conducted combined targeted raid operations in this area of the Iraqi capital in an effort to degrade insurgent and militia activities and operational capabilities. This joint effort resulted in the detention of five suspected insurgents.

The deceased Soldiers’ names are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
