MND-B presence patrol in East Baghdad ends with small arms fire
Multi-National Division – Baghdad PAO

BAGHDAD – An MND-B Soldier died April 3 when a patrol was attacked with small arms fire in an eastern section of the Iraqi capital.

The unit was conducting a presence patrol in the area when the attack occurred.

No other Soldiers were wounded during the attack.

Iraqi security forces and Multi-National Division – Baghdad Soldiers continued conducting operations in support of Operation Fardh Al-Qanoon, April 3, to help set conditions for a stable and self-reliant Iraq.

Elements of the unit conducting the patrol completed multiple clearing operations in the past few weeks resulting in several small arms weapons found and the detention of suspected insurgents.

Joint efforts continue to clear and control this section of the Iraqi capital in support of Operation Fardh Al-Qanoon.

The deceased Soldier’s name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
