MND-B patrol ends with small arms fire
Multi-National Division – Baghdad PAO

BAGHDAD — A MND-B Soldier died when the patrol was attacked by small arms fire in the southern outskirts of Baghdad April 3. The unit was conducting a dismounted patrol when the attack occurred. One other Soldier was wounded in the attack.

In the past few weeks, the unit has conducted joint clearing operations with Iraqi forces, which has resulted in the detention of 16 suspected insurgents and the recovery of several weapons caches, including improvised explosive device making materials.

Iraqi security forces and Multi-National Division – Baghdad Soldiers continued conducting operations in support of Operation Fardh Al-Qanoon to help set conditions for a stable and self-reliant Iraq.

The deceased Soldier’s name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
