Roadside bombs strike MND-B patrols
Multi-National Division – Baghdad Public Affairs

BAGHDAD – While conducting a combat security patrol, two MND-B Soldiers died and two others were wounded when an improvised explosive device detonated near their unit southwest of the Iraqi capital March 31.

Four additional Soldiers were killed when a second improvised explosive device detonated near a separate unit responding to the initial IED strike southwest of the Iraqi capital April 1.

Iraqi Security Forces and Multi-National Division – Baghdad Soldiers continue conducting operations in support of Operation Fardh Al-Qanoon to help set on-going conditions for a stable and self reliant Iraq.

During the last week of March, elements of these units have found five weapons caches in this area. Finding these weapons caches helps reduce the threat of insurgent attacks and continues to aide in providing a more secure and safe living environment for the Iraqi people.

The deceased Soldiers’ names are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
