Spokesman rejects US claim on discovery of Iranian military equipment

Foreign Ministry spokesman Mohammad-Ali Hosseini here Thursday dismissed the remarks of US officials about discovery of Iranian made military equipment in Afghanistan as a repeated and unauthorized scenario.

Turning to such claims as a sign of US officials' weakness in the region, he said that insistence on unprincipled approaches can hardly conceal the growing trend of the failures of the US government in Afghanistan.

Underlining that Iran's favorable relations with Afghanistan is expanding within the framework of their common interests, he added, "Iran's decisive role in supporting promotion of security, stability and welfare of the Afghan people is quite transparent and has been appreciated by Afghanistan."
