Roadside bomb strikes MND-B patrol

Multi-National Division – Baghdad PAO

BAGHDAD – Soldiers from Multi-National Division - Baghdad operating with Iraqi security forces have successfully found 62 weapons caches and 157 improvised explosive devices during the month of March. These combined security operations further ensure the security of Iraqi citizens and help set conditions for a stable Iraq and enable the government of Iraq to be self-reliant.

March 13, a MND-B unit struck a roadside bomb while conducting these types of combined security operations in a northeastern section of the Iraqi capital, killing one Soldier and wounding another.

This unit recently supported a nine-day operation targeting vehicle-borne improvised explosive device making networks, further securing Baghdad in cooperation with the Iraqi security forces and significantly reducing sectarian violence.

The deceased Soldier’s name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
