Roadside bomb strikes MND-B patrol
Multi-National Division – Baghdad PAO

BAGHDAD – Soldiers from Multi-National Division - Baghdad operating with Iraqi security forces have successfully found 56 weapons caches and 138 improvised explosive devices during the month of March.

These combined security operations further ensure the security of Iraqi citizens and help set conditions for a stable Iraq and enable the government of Iraq to be self-reliant.

A MND-B unit in support of an on-going air assault mission southwest of the Iraqi capital was struck by a roadside bomb, killing one Soldier and wounding two others on March 11. In the last two weeks, this particular unit has been directly involved in the discovery of several caches.

The deceased Soldier’s name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
