Route clearance patrol struck by roadside bomb
Multi-National Division – Baghdad Public Affairs
BAGHDAD – Soldiers from Multi-National Division - Baghdad have successfully found 173 weapons caches and 372 improvised explosive devices in the last 30 days, further ensuring the security of Iraqi citizens.
On March 2, an MND-B unit was conducting a route clearance patrol in order to free commonly traveled route of improvised explosive devices northwest of the Iraqi capital when they were struck by a roadside bomb, killing two Soldiers and one interpreter. Another Soldier was injured in the incident.
The deceased Soldiers’ names are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
