United States Air Force East Coast Demonstration Team Selects Pratt & Whitney F119-Powered F-22 Raptor

EAST HARTFORD, Conn., March 20, 2007 - The United States Air Force selected the Pratt & Whitney F119-powered F-22 Raptor for their East Coast Demonstration Team beginning in April 2007 at Langley Air Force Base, Virginia. This marks the end of more than 20 years of showmanship by the F100-PW-100 powered F-15 Eagle East Demonstration Team, which performed for more than one million spectators annually at air shows and demonstrations. Pratt & Whitney is a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX) company.

“It is an honor to have the Pratt & Whitney-powered F-22 Raptor showcased in East Coast air shows and events that will enable the American people to experience, firsthand, the amazing maneuverability and game-changing capabilities of this fifth generation fighter. We look forward to supporting the U.S. Air Force when the F-22 Raptor demonstration season kicks off,” said Chris Flynn, F119 program director, Pratt & Whitney.

The East Coast Demonstration air show season runs from April through mid-November 2007. The F119-powered F-22 Raptor will perform multiple flyby passes that will include a series of high and low speed climbing and turning maneuvers during its first season.

Pratt & Whitney military engines include the F100 that powers the F-16 and F-15, the F135 for the F-35 Lightning II; F119 for the F-22 Raptor; F117 for the C-17 Globemaster III; J52 for the EA-6B Prowler; TF33 powering AWACS, Joint STARS, B-52, and KC-135 aircraft; TF30 for the F-111; PT6 for T-6A and UH-1N aircraft; and JT15 for the T-1A trainer and Pegasus UCAV.
