Insurgents target MND-B security patrol
Multi-National Division – Baghdad PAO
BAGHDAD – A Multi-National Division - Baghdad Soldier died when insurgents targeted a security patrol in a western segment of the Iraqi capital Feb. 11.
While conducting a cordon and search operation, the patrol came under enemy small arms fire. One Soldier was killed and another was wounded in the attack.
Recently, troops from the same unit conducted a cordon and search operation in southern Baghdad finding a large munitions cache including 12 130mm mortars, 30 57mm mortars, 16 grenades and various improvised explosive device-making materials.
The deceased Soldier’s name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
